Of the Rebel pilots that flew X-Wings, Y-Wings and Snowspeeders we've had five characters and it was only in the beginning of 2010 we got a torso design change, apart from the hip colour changing to the lighter Gray-blue colour, the basic design has remained constant for eleven years. Within that time we've had Biggs, Gold Leader, Dack and the dire Wedge, whilst the helmet detail has been excellent in reproducing the original designs from the film, Lego has been guilty on multiple times for "dumbing" down characters. When the first Gold Leader was released it was simply named a Y-Wing pilot, yet the helmet detail was that of Gold Leaders and on it's last release had the standard smiley face. Dack in all his three versions has always had a smiley face and as for Wedge, how could Lego even consider putting a smiley face on him? If Lego insist on getting the helmet details spot on, then surely the effort should name the fig, give a unique face and finally continue with it on any subsequent releases.

Just a simple moustache and here you have Luke's closest friend from Tatooine. Helmet detail perfect.
BIGGS DARKLIGHTER CODE: sw009 SET/S: 7140, 7142
Whilst not originally named by Lego, it's widely acknowledge as being so, but unfortunately just like the screen character not really memorable, so the standard smiley face is forgivable.
DACK I CODE: sw012 SET/S: 7130
This is the lighter bluish gray hipped version and seemingly rarer.
DACK II CODE: sw012a SET/S: 4500
Just like the original yellow version but fleshed and with the lighter gray hips.
DACK III CODE: sw012b SET/S: 7666
Gold Leader - Just like Dack, not named by Lego. Helmet detail again excellent as with the head design.
Y-WING PILOT I CODE: sw033 SET/S: 7150, 7152
This is the variant of the above, all that's different is the bluish hip joint.
Y-WING PILOT II CODE: sw033a SET/S: 7262
Here we have a plain looking fleshed Y-Wing pilot, the only point really worth noting here is for this one is the helmet, it's exactly the same as the Gold Leaders, Lego scrimping again?
Y-WING PILOT III CODE: sw0894 SET/S: 7658
Apart from the helmet detail, there's really nothing special about this figure - there should be, it's Wedge - COME ON!!! I mean the character is a legend, survived two Death Stars, in all the films, (classic trilogy folks), and basically a minor main character... and this is how Lego reward him and fans? his helmet design and then a standard smiley head... despicable!

Lego redesign the standard pilot and it's rather good, new torso details on both back and front, (mouse over on enlarged image), and a mention must go to the fact that Lego actually done this justice and made the effort to name a character and make it different to the rest.
Now Mr Lego people - go fix Wedge!!!
ZEV SENESCA CODE sw260 SET/S: 8083, 8089
A strange inclusion into the series me thinks, I dunno if Lego was short on idea's or if someone felt it would be cool to do the hopper. Technically not a rebel, but I gather the pilot is from Tatooine, so there for against the Imperial occupation... I do like the detail on the torso and the red helmet looks kinda cool also...
T-16 SKYHOPPER CODE: sw077 SET/S: 4477
Here we're treated to a different torso design and different head, but nothing really stands out for this fig.
A-WING PILOT I CODE: sw031 SET/S: 7134
Same as the previous version, but fleshed out with a smiley face. Also the helmet visor changes to a smokey colour.
A-WING PILOT II CODE: sw031a SET/S: 6207
Again Lego continue their inconsistency, nothing new detail wise, still a standard smiley face, but back to the yellow helmet visor as per the first version.
A-WING PILOT III CODE: sw031b SET/S: 7754
Not a great deal to mention about this one, same body design as the orange ones. The helmet is nothing special, nor does anything standout...
Oh wait, it has eyebrows, yep note for collectors there, look for the eyebrows... LMAO!
B-WING PILOT I CODE: sw032 SET/S: 7180
I thought the original one was a little dire, but this one fairs even worse with bog standard smiley flesh head, (SFH, I'm coining that).
