AT-AT DRIVER I

CODE: sw102 SET/S: 4483

OUTSTANDING!!! Something about this figure just reeks the coolness. The Helmet detail brilliant. Torso printed both back and front - just a great all round minifig and highly sort after as the play set, (AT-AT), is quite expensive to get hold of.

Neither Bricklink or Brickset recognise the fact that apart from the colour, the two variants of this also differ with the helmet triangle above the eye's. This I thought was a process mistake but this appears quite regularly on eBay like this one and mostly with this set.

AT-AT DRIVER II

CODE: sw177 SET/S: 10178

This is virtually the same as the other version - except for this has a full triangle on the helmet and colour, whilst the other is more of a military dark green-gray, this is more of a gray, the hip's slightly lighter and the printing on the torso coloured to match the base colour and has a plain black head compared to the others yellow - still an awesome fig.

AT-AT DRIVER III

CODE: sw262 SET/S: 8084, 8129

I thought the previous versions of this fig were good but this ones even better. Whilst the torso design hasn't changed and matches the second in every way the helmet doesn't. Here Lego have created a really detailed and colour rich piece, while in the previous versions they used a stormtrooper helmet, here they've totally redesigned the shape and that the over all look is simply outstanding. the result of this has reduced my personal rating of the previous ones.

SHUTTLE PILOT I

CODE sw042 SET/S: 7166

Much the same problem here as the 1st Imperial Officer. A saving grace for this design though is this, swapping the hat for one of Christo's Death Star helmets creates the near perfect Imperial Death Star Guard.

SHUTTLE PILOT UCS

CODE sw294 SET/S: 10212

This fig has a complete makeover but there is absolutely nothing new about this fig;

The hat was previously used for the Expanded Universe Juno Eclipse fig. The face ever so similar to the latest incarnation of General Veers, (Han style smirk down turned with brown lip shadow (Brickset) - although the official picture shows no smirk with brown lip shadow). The torso is the same as the Deathstar Guard, (no circle in the belt buckle, but Brickset list the fig with the alternative with the circle).

The fig I have here is the Lego listed Torso but the Brickset listed face, it could be a while till I can figure just what is what with this one.

SCOUT TROOPER I

CODE sw005 SET/S: 3342, 7128, 7139

Lego's first offering of imperial cannon fodder, cool helmet with the visor printed on the head. Captures the style brilliantly, but unfortunately ain't no Stormtrooper, which we all wanted from the off.

SCOUT TROOPER II

CODE: sw005a SET/S: 8038, 7956

All that's changed from the first version is a solid black head piece is now used.

SCOUT TROOPER III

SET/S: NT

Okay this is from EP3 I felt this was an exception and a worthy an inclusion to my collection. As you can see this has s completely different colour scheme, when I saw this I just had to have it for my collection. Lego later adopted the solid head piece from this update to the second Scout Trooper release.

AT-ST PILOT

CODE: sw093 SET/S: 7657

Lego continue their "fleshing out" of characters can anyone tell me why the change? I'm not knocking it by a long chance, this is cool, again it's the helmet and the head that does it for me, love it.

TIE FIGHTER PILOT

CODE: sw035/a/b SET/S: brown head: 7146, 4479 black head: 6206, 7659, reddish brown head: 7263, 10131

Don't think much of this one, I think it's the lack of detail on the helmet that just makes it look like a blob of plastic devoid of any real detail - the two imperial symbols can't help it, just kack. Although since retaking this picture the detail appears a little more clearer, if not with the naked eye.

TIE DEFENDER PILOT

CODE: sw268 SET/S: 8087

Not a TIE Fighter Pilot as I first thought. This uses the newly designed helmet like the AT-AT Driver, Again lacks the detail like the Fighter version unless viewed with the naked eye. All in all though quite a good fig.

ROYAL GUARD I

CODE sw040 SET/S: 7166, 7264, 6211

Who didn't think these characters were cool in the films, these were the best of the best and 100% loyal to the Emperor - to understand more about these read about Kir Kanos and Crimson Empire books and graphic novels.

ROYAL GUARD II

CODE sw040a SET/S: 10188

Think this is kinda pot luck if you get this from the 6211 "Star Destroyer" set as both the red and black handed versions are listed to come with it. Without doubt though they do come from the set 10188.

Note: it was a case that some black handed versions are not from the above set, they are "magnetic" and sold in blister packs with others and tend to be of a different quality of plastic.

DEATHSTAR GUARD I

CODE: sw208 SET/S: 10188

Quickly following hot on Christo's custom Death Star helmets comes the UCS official version. Personally I don't think Lego bothered to watch the film and observe the simple fact that the helmet is completely wrong. How can they design and produce the Stormtrooper's, Royal Guards and Boba Fett's brilliantly and get this one so wrong???

DEATHSTAR GUARD II

CODE: NA SET/S: 8038

The only difference between this and the previous version is the belt buckle, where as the other is solid silver this has a black circle within it.

While ebayers and myself know the difference between the two of these, neither Bricklink, nor Brickset note the difference or give it a code which would surely be sw208a.
